WORLD TOILET DAY
On November 19, 2019 the Students of Santiniketan Public School Celebrated World Toilet Day with the aim of mobilising the global Sanitation crisis and help to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG- 6) . A special assembly was organised, in which Mrs. Pavithra gave a speech on Nutrition and Sanitation. In her speech she highlighted the dreadful effects of inadequate sanitation, how the children are affected by the lack of hygiene and sanitation and the importance of Toilets, which save lives because human waste spreads killer diseases.
The theme of 2019 is ‘Leaving No One Behind’ which focus on expanding sanitation access to more than 4. 2 billion people living without safely managed sanitation. Our students went on a rally to the nearby villages, Kodangipatty and Muthuthevanpatty to raise awareness of Safely Managed Sanitation in the rural areas around Theni. Our Students also honored the Washroom Attendants and thanked them with mementos. In order to pay tribute to their service, they also created a video, which depicted their hard work and passion for the job they are doing.
