As per the directive of CBSE, Santiniketan Public School observed cleanliness drive for Swachh Bharat under Swachhata Pakhwada in order to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and the Swachh Bharat mission which was started by our Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. This awareness program extended for 15 days from 01.09.2019 to 15.09.2019. This started with Swachhta Shapath Day in which the students, during the assembly, took a vow that they will keep their country clean by cleaning their surroundings.


Swachhata Awareness Day was marked on 03.09.2019. A Special assembly was conducted. Mrs. V.L.Pavithra gave a speech on “Health, Hygiene and Sanitation”. Her speech highlighted the importance of cleanliness and sanitation among students Community outreach programme was conducted on 04.09.2019. A rally was organized to the nearby village in order to create awareness about Cleanliness among the rural people.


Green School Drive held on 06.09.2019. Tree plantation in and around school campus was carried on. Students joyfully planted trees. The effects of deforestation were highlighted on that day during the assembly time. The students were encouraged to participate in various competitions such as painting, essay writing, slogan writing on Cleanliness.


Participation Day held on 07.09.2019. The students with great enthusiasm participated in all the competitions that were themed on Health and Hygiene. It was followed by Hand Wash Day and personal Hygiene Day on 8th and 9th of September respectively. Hand washing procedure was demonstrated for the students and Dr. Senthilkumaran, a renowned dentist in Theni was invited. He shared few tips on how to clean the teeth and the Gums.


Swachhata School Exhibition Day was marked on 12.09.2019. On this day the paintings, Slogans, Photographs that were themed on Cleanliness were displayed and the students were allowed to view it. The creative world of the students was breath taking and it was definitely an opportunity to showcase their talents.


On Letter Writing Day, the students were encouraged to write letters to their parents informing them about the activities that had taken place during the Cleanliness Awareness Programme conducted in our school. September 15th was observed as Prize Distribution Day in which students who won the competitions were rewarded with Medals and Certificates.
