The much awaited ‘National Sports Day’ was celebrated at Santiniketan Public School with great zeal and enthusiasm. This day marks the 114th birth anniversary of the legendary Indian Hockey player, Dhyan Chand.

The students were informed about the achievements of Mr.Dyan Chand and also the need to inculcate physical activity and sports in our day today life. On this special occasion our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Fit India-Movement’ which aimed at promoting fitness and health.

A short introduction about the launch and its importance was given by our Head co-ordinator, Mrs. Aarthi. The students were engaged in sports activities till 10.00 A.M and after that the launch of ‘Fit India – Movement’ was live streamed. The students listened keenly to the speech delivered by our Prime Minister and was highly motivated by his speech. They also pledged that they will keep themselves fit and healthy.
