As a part of the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, it is proposed to all schools that they should observe KHADI WEARING DAY ON A VOLUNTARY basis. Santiniketan Public School on 23.12.2019. undeniable fact that Khadi is the heritage fabric of India, which not only provided employment opportunities to rural artisans but also promoted equality. The students of our school were encouraged to wear Khadi attires on this day. Our children buzzed around the campus in vibrant hues and enjoyed its extremely sophisticated feel and elegant look. During the assembly time, Mrs.Jeyapratha highlighted the importance of Khadi and its contributions towards rural economy. Our children listened keenly and realized that clothing is an identical issue and there is nothing equivalent to our home grown fabric, Khadi.
